Sasshi took the throne again!!

Highlights / Main Points (IMO):

  1. Sasshi’s 2nd win
  2. The Centers for each level were either HKT48 members (Senbatsu, UnderGirls, NextGirls) or SKE48 members (Future Girls, Upcoming Girls)
  3. Takamina’s return to Kami 7 and ranking her highest spot ever!
  4. 27 SKE48 members ranked in (inc. Sae) — SKE48 dominated this election
  5. My oshimen, Sae, got the #8 spot, which is her highest spot ever as well
  6. Kitahara and Milky returned to senbatsu
  7. Kaotan, Churi, and Tomu made it into senbatsu
  8. Tani, who had never ranked before, made it into UnderGirls — #23

Lowlights / Notable Sad Points (IMO)

  1. Haruppi ranked in at 17 — she increased her rank and made it as UnderGirls Center but she was one spot away from senbatsu
  2. Dasu dropped 8 spots out of senbatsu and into UnderGirls
  3. Only 23 AKB48 pure members ranked in — it was more like a sister group election tbh. I feel bad for mid generation AKB48 members.
  4. Mayuyu dropped from 1st to 3rd: this is the highest drop any Sousenkyo winner has done
  5. Lemon dropped from 53 to 79 :/
  6. Umechan dropped from 35 to 56

(thoughts) nogizaka46 members popularity & the sayuri scandal

Member Popularity:

The most pushed members are the least popular or at least not as popular as they should be aka Hoshino, Ikoma, and Ikuta. Okada Nana and Ichiki Rena too in the beginning. Management pushed Ikoma so hard with having her center the first five singles, but fans mostly disliked her because of it. When she wasn’t center anymore, they warmed up to her but when she accepted the concurrency to AKB48, their opinion dropped of her again. Though now it’s calm again. Still fans’ opinions on her are polarizing. Ikoma is KNOWN (the most known member of Nogizaka46) but she isn’t POPULAR. Nogizaka46 fans tend to like girly characters. Fans of other girls feel Ikoma is/was pushed so hard and that oshi was neglected by management.

The most popular members according to the 10th single 8th round HS result: Nishino, Shiraishi, Hashimoto, Maimai, Akimoto, Matsumura, Ikuta, Wakasama, Eto misa, Sakurai. Ikoma ranked 18.

Scandal:

Matsumura Sayuri was caught by paparazzi out at night with an employee of Young Jump gravure. On the radio, she apologized and said that she met him on the street and hung out a bit and got drunk. Obviously she was lying or telling a half-truth because paparazzi took pictures of Sayuri and him on multiple occasions. I’m disappointed in her because she was in engaged in an affair with a married man who has children (and of course, he is a scumbag ew). We will see how the public and the fans react to this… Sayuri is one of the most popular members among Nogizaka46 fans so…

This is Nogizaka46’s first official scandal (the previous scandals – Wakasama, Eto – were pre-debut).

Single:

Nogizaka46’s 10th single Nandome no Aozora ka? was released today/yesterday! On the first day, the single sold 412k. It’s their highest sales thus far and actually is the second highest 2014 46/48G sales this year!! The title song is better than Natsu Free & Easy imo.
